I want to relax! Forget the bubble baths, I want a massage!

Every time I open a magazine there some article about today's harried woman needing to relax. It's true, we're stressed. But soaking in a bubble bath doesn't work for me. My book keeps getting wet. Candles lit all over the bathroom doesn't work either. The cats keep frying their fur. Have you ever smelt burning cat fur?

I don't know about you but what enables me to relax is having the kids out of the house for the night. A weekend would be better. Then I get to re acquaint myself with the TV. Find out what shows are on. I had no idea Mythbusters was so interesting. Or that I was so into disasters on the History Channel. I have no idea what's going on with Desperate Housewives but I get the title.

I make dinner of what I WANT to eat. I pick the TV channel of what I want to watch. I hold all the TV remotes! That right there is relaxing enough. No stress. It's wonderful.

Contrary to popular belief I don't know many women that get massages. What's the one thing women are very sensitive about? Their weight. And yet you want us to get pretty much naked in front of a stranger and have them rub their hands all over our fat? You've got to be kidding me. That's is some high stress right there. Not relaxing at all. Plus you have to worry if the masseuse is going to snap a picture of you and post it on the Internet. Or feel you up. No thanks.

No, my idea of relaxing is hogging the TV, having the house to myself, eating what I want, going to bed whenever I want, sleeping in really late. Watching the BBC's version of Pride and Prejudice is always wonderful too.
